For more than thirty years, my life’s work has helped clients achieve freedom—both on their favorite "stage" and in their lives. My practical, action-oriented approach to therapy is a unique balance of gentleness and challenge. I specialize in building resilience, guiding clients to face their fears, overcoming limiting beliefs, processing grief, and taking charge of their lives. My work integrates the essential task of addressing unresolved “stuff” from the past with the development of skills to create a vibrant and fulfilling future. I deeply value the power of meaningful relationships. I love coaching parents and partners committed to bettering themselves, to better their relationships. I believe the relationship we cultivate with ourselves deserves equal care and compassion. Together, we’ll uncover your “best self” and bring it forward to navigate the challenges of today’s world. It would be my privilege to be your healing partner on your adventure today.

Throughout my training within and beyond graduate school, I treated adults and adolescents to address social anxiety, depression, specific phobias, OCD, trauma, sleep issues, and panic concerns. I have worked with adolescent and adult clients from diverse backgrounds using a variety of intervention techniques including motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavior therapy, exposure, schema focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies. While I have enjoyed these therapy experiences immensely, I especially appreciated the ability to provide clarity and solutions to clients through assessments. My experience as a therapist has also helped me on the other side as an assessor when making treatment recommendations. Testing can be an incredible tool to help clients advocate for accommodations and provide clearer pathways forward in therapy. I have assessed college students and community members of all ages for a variety of presenting problems including depression, personality disorders, anxiety, ADHD, and specific learning disorders using evidence-based techniques. My assessment work progressed as a fellow at Dever Health Hospital and the Denver County Jail, providing clinical interviews and personality assessments to help rule out diagnoses and clarify existing ones in diagnostically complex cases. Finally, as a postdoctoral fellow and as a current contractor, I perform risk assessments for public safety departments when making hiring decisions for safety sensitive roles.

Hello, I’m Dr. Sehrish Tariq, and I serve as the Clinical Director at WellQor for Illinois, Michigan, and New York. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University and am a licensed Psypact provider, which enables me to offer services across 31 states nationwide. My journey into psychology was driven by a desire to support others in achieving personal and vocational growth. I’ve always been deeply fascinated by human behavior and mental health, and that passion continues to guide my work with clients every day. I bring a broad range of clinical experience across diverse populations and settings. I specialize in providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. My background also includes extensive experience in psychological and neuropsychological assessment, group therapy, and family therapy. I’ve worked with individuals facing a wide array of challenges, including oppositional and risk-taking behaviors, attention-related difficulties, parenting and discipline concerns, domestic violence, eating disorders, academic and motivational issues, ADHD, substance use, depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Through my years in practice, I’ve learned that meaningful change starts from within. While we may not be able to control our external environment, we can shift how we interpret and respond to it. I believe in empowering clients to make those internal changes that lead to greater happiness and fulfillment. As your therapist, I’m here to help you become the change you want to see in your life. Outside of my professional role, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Dr. Stone has a calm, caring presence that makes it easy to open up. In just one session she helped me see things about myself that I hadn’t been able to name before. It was emotional but in the best way, like finally being understood after carrying things alone for a long time. Her insight is gentle but powerful. I’m thankful for the space she creates and the way she listens.
