The Problem We're Solving Together

Counselor-to-student ratios are stretched beyond limits

School counselor-to-student ratios are far above recommended levels nationwide, and the average wait for an outside therapy referral is 6+ weeks, which is time students can't afford to lose. When mental health needs go unaddressed, the effects show up in attendance, grades, and classroom behavior.

Emora gives your school a credible, reliable place to send students who need more support than your team can provide.

What the Partnership Looks Like

Emora works alongside your counseling team, not as a replacement, but an extension. When a student needs clinical support, counselors refer directly to Emora. Families are matched with a licensed specialist within 48 hours, pay as little as $0 through insurance, and receive age-specialized care.

For schools wanting deeper integration, we offer customized referral workflows, staff training, and optional progress-sharing with school counselors.

Emora is built from the ground up for young people with age-specific clinicians for every stage from early childhood through the transition to adulthood, integrated therapy, medication, and diagnostic testing in one place, and a 7% clinician acceptance rate that ensures your students are getting genuinely expert care.

Frequently Asked Questions

No — and that's intentional. School counselors serve a critical role in student development, crisis response, and day-to-day support. Emora provides clinical mental health care (therapy, medication management, ADHD/autism evaluations) that falls outside the scope of what school counselors are trained or licensed to deliver. Think of us as the clinical team your counselors have always needed on speed dial.

Emora accepts most major commercial insurance plans, Tricare, and ChampVA. Families complete a brief insurance verification when they sign up — most pay between $0 and $30 per session. Emora can also accommodate self-pay families on a sliding scale.

Most students are matched with a clinician within 24–48 hours of completing intake. There are no waitlists.

Emora serves young people from early childhood (ages 0–4) through young adulthood (25+), with clinicians specifically trained for each developmental stage. For K-12 partnerships, this covers every student in your building.

Only with explicit written consent from the student's family. Emora takes privacy seriously and adheres to all HIPAA requirements. When families do consent to coordination, we facilitate structured communication between Emora clinicians and school counselors to ensure continuity of care.

There is no cost to the school for establishing a referral partnership. Emora is compensated through insurance reimbursement — your counselors can refer with confidence knowing there's no financial obligation on the school's end.

Let's bring better behavioral health to your school community.
