Biography
Dr. Apree Clicque is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with extensive experience in psychological assessment and trauma-focused care. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University, followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University. In 2020, she completed her doctorate in Psychology at California Southern University, where her dissertation explored the impact of volunteerism on PTSD, specifically among military members transitioning to civilian life. Dr. Clicque is known for her direct, goal-oriented approach and her commitment to evidence-based care. Her diverse clinical background includes work in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, intake coordination, private practice, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient settings. In her role as a psychologist, Dr. Clicque provides comprehensive evaluations across a range of concerns, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual functioning, learning disorders, PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, and personality dynamics. Her assessment process is collaborative and strengths-based, designed to provide clients with clarity, diagnostic insight, and actionable recommendations. In addition to her assessment work, Dr. Clicque specializes in treating trauma and has advanced training in working with military members, first responders, and their families. She is also passionate about providing affirming care to the LGBTQ+ community and supporting clients navigating body image, self-esteem, and end-of-life concerns.

Dr. Apree Clicque was very attentive during our first session as we shared our concerns about our daughter. She took the time to listen and begin evaluating both our daughter’s strengths as well as the areas that seem a bit concerning. It was not easy to find someone willing to see her at 17, so we are very grateful for the opportunity to work with her and for the care and attention she has already shown.

The conversation was real and open. As a parent I felt like the visit was comfortable and we were both able to openly discuss struggles and strengths without any judgement or criticism. We were able to laugh while discussing difficult topics which made it easy to freely discuss issues we were facing. We’re looking forward to working together to develop a plan for our child.

Dr. Apree Clicque is so warm and patient. My son has struggled with explaining his feelings and usually shuts down when he feels the person he is explaining things to is not understanding, Dr.Clique allowed the space for him to say the thoughts he was developing as they came to mind for him without being rushed or talked over. After all of the professionals that have let us down in the past we finally both feel heard. We’re excited about what’s to come.

I liked that our Psychologist intended to test for more than just one screening and instead assess a wide variety of mental disorders to really pinpoint the issues we’ve been having to seek resolution for all of us. Helping us help him makes all the difference.
