My name is Tiara, and I'm a dedicated counselor with a deep commitment to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve their fullest potential. My professional journey is rooted in a diverse range of experiences that have shaped my compassionate and practical approach to counseling. I have a particular passion for working with young girls who have been survivors of sex trafficking, providing trauma-informed care and building a foundation for healing, self-worth, and future success. My background also includes extensive time as a Special Education Teacher, where I developed skills in individualized learning plans, behavioral support, and advocating for the unique needs of students. Furthermore, I served as a Middle School Mental Health Counselor, gaining invaluable experience in addressing the complex emotional, social, and academic issues faced by adolescents, including anxiety, peer pressure, and self-esteem challenges. I primarily utilize two highly effective therapeutic modalities to help my clients create meaningful, lasting change: • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This approach helps clients understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We work together to identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, replacing them with more balanced and constructive ones to improve emotional regulation and coping skills. • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): Rather than dwelling on past problems, SFBT is a forward-moving approach that focuses on identifying and utilizing your existing strengths and resources.
