Biography

I am an empathetic, authentic, and nonjudgmental Clinical Mental Health Counselor committed to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University, where I successfully passed the National Counselor Examination. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults across outpatient and higher levels of care, including PHP/IOP settings, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and individualized treatment. My therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)–informed skills, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, psychoeducation, and strengths-based counseling. I am experienced in conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments, clinical interviews, and ongoing treatment planning. I also bring extensive experience participating in and supporting IEP meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and translating clinical insights into practical, goal-oriented interventions. In addition to my clinical work, I have a strong background in special education, including experience developing individualized plans, advocating for client needs, and providing court testimony when required. This background has strengthened my ability to assess complex systems, maintain professional objectivity, and support clients and families navigating high-stakes and emotionally challenging situations. I prioritize building a trusting therapeutic relationship and strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel empowered to develop effective coping strategies, strengthen resilience, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
