Biography

I’m Meg Brackenbury, MS, LPC Associate (supervised by Marshia Allen, PsyD, LPC-S, RPT). I work with adolescents and young adults who experience emotional dysregulation, anxiety, mood instability, and patterns of overcontrol that often interfere with daily functioning and relationships. My clinical focus includes eating disorder treatment and disordered eating, including restrictive eating, binge-purge behaviors, body image distress, and rigid or rule-driven relationships with food. These concerns frequently co-occur with perfectionism, trauma exposure, anxiety, and difficulties with emotional expression or flexibility. My approach is trauma-informed and skills-based, drawing from Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) and DBT-informed interventions to support increased emotional awareness, psychological flexibility, and interpersonal connection. Treatment emphasizes practical skill development while addressing underlying patterns that maintain distress. I strive to provide a structured, collaborative therapeutic environment that supports stabilization, insight, and sustainable change, helping clients and families move toward improved functioning, balance, and well-being.

Parent of a 14 year old

It was her first session “alone” with Meg and she seemed pretty engaged and when done she was smiling. I was thankful Meg told me what she was going to be working on and a heads up so I would not be concerned. So far so good!

Meg spoke to us and we gave her some insight as to what’s going on and she was confident she can help our daughter. She was kind and respectful and we are confident this is going to be a great match!

I think she will be a great fit for my daughter and this will be extremely helpful for her. Meg Brackenbury was very patient and open to listening to the struggles my daughter is going through.
