Biography

Welcome! I'm Michelle Chasen, LCMHCA, and I’m glad you’re here. If you’ve been holding a lot lately, you’re not alone. I provide virtual (telehealth) therapy to clients across North Carolina, supporting children, teens, and young adults who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, shut down, or weighed-down—especially when big feelings begin affecting school, home life, or relationships with others. My approach is warm, steady, and practical, with attention to the relationships and experiences that shape how we feel about ourselves and relate to others. I meet clients where they are, without judgment, creating a space where they can explore their emotions at their own pace. I listen closely to what clients express beneath the surface, offering understanding and support that addresses both emotional needs and real-world challenges. I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, with specialized training in working with children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan. I also earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University. My therapeutic approach is integrative, blending psychodynamic and relational work with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy, child-centered play therapy, grief and loss interventions, and trauma-informed care. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-worth, bullying, and relational challenges. My work is grounded in empathy, collaboration, attunement, and evidence-based practices, so each client feels seen, heard, understood, and supported in creating meaningful change. You don’t have to navigate this alone—I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
