Biography
I am dedicated to supporting children, young adults, adults, individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families through a holistic and family-centered approach to care. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a certificate in Women’s Studies from Florida International University in 2008 and later completed my Master of Science in Counseling at Capella University with a 4.0 GPA. Since 2010, I have worked in education and social services, gaining extensive experience supporting diverse populations and building meaningful relationships with children and families. With more than five years of experience in elementary education, I have developed a strong ability to connect with children in ways that help them feel safe, understood, and empowered. I chose this work because everyone deserves compassionate support that sees the whole person, not just a diagnosis. My therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and play therapy techniques to help develop emotional regulation, communication skills, coping strategies, and confidence in everyday life. Parents and caregivers are essential partners in the therapeutic process and I work closely with families to provide guidance, encouragement, and practical tools that can be used outside of sessions. I am committed to creating a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and equipped for growth and healing.
