About therapists for parents in Florida

Most parents who end up on this page did not come looking for themselves. They came for a child, sat through a few months of appointments, and worked out somewhere along the way that they are running on empty too. If that is you, it is worth saying plainly: needing your own therapist does not take anything away from your child’s care, and it is not a sign that you are handling this badly.

Parenting a child who is struggling has its own shape. It can look like anxiety that will not switch off at night, guilt about a diagnosis, arguing with your partner about how to handle the same behavior, exhaustion that sleep does not touch, and grief for the version of family life you thought you were going to get. The therapists on this page work on that directly, alongside whatever else you are carrying, whether that is work, your own childhood, a loss, or a health scare.

This is your therapy. You are the client, the hour is yours, and it is confidential the way it would be for any adult in treatment. If your child is already with an Emora clinician, your therapist can coordinate with them when it helps and you ask for it, but you do not need a child in care here to book. Everyone listed is licensed in Florida, bills insurance, and works by video.

Therapists for Parents in Florida: common questions

How much does therapy for parents cost in Florida?
Emora is in-network with most major commercial plans, and with Medicaid in several states. Once your plan is applied, most families pay between $0 and $35 per session. You can check what your own plan covers before you book at /cost-estimate. There is no membership fee, and matching with a clinician is free.
Is this therapy for me, or is it parent coaching about my child?
It is therapy for you. You are the client, the session is yours, and what you say in it is confidential the same way it would be for any adult in treatment. That is what makes it different from parent coaching or a parent-guidance session attached to your child’s care, which is about strategies for your child and is documented in your child’s chart. Plenty of parents use both. If what you actually want is help managing a specific behavior at home, say so in the first session and your clinician will tell you honestly which one fits.
Do I need my child to be an Emora client?
No. Anyone in Florida can book with the clinicians on this page. Families who do have a child in care here often prefer it, because the two clinicians can coordinate with your written consent and you do not have to repeat the same history twice. Either way, your sessions stay confidential to you.
What ages do these therapists work with?
This page lists clinicians who work with adults. Each provider card shows that clinician’s own age range. Many of them also see teenagers and young adults, which is why some names show up on more than one page. Care for your child is on the child therapy and teen therapy pages for Florida.
Are sessions virtual, and when can I actually be seen?
All sessions are by secure video, from wherever you can find a private forty-five minutes. For most parents, that is the reason this works at all. Only clinicians who are accepting new clients are listed, and each card shows their live openings, including early-morning and evening times. Many parents book a first session within about 48 hours.

I bring 20 years of experience in the mental health field to her work with adults, older adults, children, and adolescents navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and a wide range of clinical concerns. Credentials & Experience I earned my graduate degree from Walden University, with prior education at Hodges University and Pasco Hernando Community College. Over the course of two decades in the mental health field, I have worked as a case manager and therapist in a psychiatric hospital for 15 years, transitioned into partial hospitalization program (PHP) work for two years, and spent the last several years in private practice. Specialties & Conditions Treated I specialize in depression, anxiety, social anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, grief and loss, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, social skills development, anger management, and couples therapy. My depth of experience across inpatient, partial hospitalization, and private practice settings allows me to support clients through a wide range of clinical presentations. Approach to Care I use a therapeutic style centered around each individual’s unique needs. Helping clients build on their strengths while identifying areas for growth, working from an empathetic and respectful stance that aims to alleviate pain, stress, and internal struggle. I offer support, respect, and empathy while truly listening to her clients’ stories. I acknowledge that taking the first step to reach out for support is itself a challenging experience — and believe that, as clients reach their goals, the work itself becomes deeply rewarding. What to Expect in Your First Session Your first session with me is a chance to share your story in a space where you’ll feel listened to without judgment. I'll ask about what brought you in, what you’ve tried before, and what kind of support feels most useful right now. From there, I'll work with you to identify your strengths and begin shaping a path forward that honors both who you are today and who you want to become. Conditions & Services Treated Depression Treatment — two decades of clinical experience Anxiety & Social Anxiety — evidence-based individual therapy PTSD & Trauma — support for adults and youth Bipolar Disorder — mood stabilization and ongoing care Grief & Loss — compassionate support through life transitions Couples Therapy — communication and relational repair
