Biography

I am a compassionate therapist who provides psychotherapy to teens, young adults, and adults. I offer a nurturing, nonjudgmental, inviting and warm space to my practice, and use variety of therapeutic approaches. My clinical interests include whole-person centered care- I believe that providing a warm, safe space for individuals to consider and care for each part of self (mind-body-spirit) paves the path towards healing. Every person deserves to feel heard and safe in our sessions.

Frequently asked questions

What does our first session look like?

First session is a space for us to start getting to know each other, and talk through reasons for seeking out therapy. I often ask questions getting to know background, and also leave space for thinking of goals to work towards. Most important is to feel comfortable and safe in the first session!

What if my child or teen won't open up to you?

It sometimes can mean that it may not be the best fit between your child and me. More often than not, it just takes time. Often we want immediate results in the fast paced world we live in, but developing a relationship in therapy can take time and patience.

How long does therapy typically take?

It can look different for everyone! If there is one or two specific goals we are working towards, it may be 8-12 sessions. Sometimes staying in therapy longer term can have more lasting results, especially knowing that developing a therapeutic relationship can often take a few months as is. So some may choose to stay in therapy for 6 months or longer!

Emma is so supportive and encouraging. My 15 year old daughter is greatly benefiting from her ability to independently work with Emma. She is feeling empowered and more confident since starting this journey. I am so proud of her and grateful to Emma.
