Biography

I have come to counseling on a different path than some; I had already completed a successful career and was looking for something different. I completed graduate school in Texas and have since become licensed in both Texas and Colorado. The majority of my work is in general counseling and I also work with couples and families. My most recent work with children and families was as a Military and Family Life counselor while embedded in an Elementary School in Abilene, Tx.

Frequently asked questions

What does our first session look like?

I will have read the intake information and forms that were filled out, so basically a review of the pieces that pertain to the issue(s) that are to be addressed.

How often will you communicate with me as a parent?

I do regular check ins between sessions. Perfectly reasonable to expect a message right after session and one halfway between the last meeting and the next. I reply from my office and check messages regularly both in and out.

Do you give homework or practice between sessions?

I often give activities or ask for/about journal entries of activities. I do not require these things BUT it certainly helps outcomes and rapport.
