Hello, thanks for reading my Bio. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and I obtained my first license in 2004. I am also a doctor of clinical and forensic psychology and have taught college level psychology in the past. I love being a psychotherapist because I love to see patients get to that place of resolution or confidence that they have the right coping skills for any situation. I am trained in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, which I combine with Christian faith based techniques. I work with children as young as six, teenagers, adults, and seniors. A lot of my experience has been working with patients who are struggling with anxiety symptoms, depression, parenting challenges, blended family issues, trauma, work place stress, life transitions, to mention just a few. I look forward to talking with you about your particular situation.

The therapist was wonderful. She talked with me about some goals as a parent. Then talked with my daughter about her goals as well. It was low stress and my daughter felt really comfortable.

Nathan seemed to enjoy it. I think he likes the extra attention. At 1st he was not loving the idea of therapy but now he asks “will I get the sane person again?” When I said yes he smiled.

I am a therapist who practices complete acceptance of you as a person and who seeks to encourage you to achieve a joyful and fulfilled life. I graduated with my Masters degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Chicago, where I focused on trauma, child and adolescent mental health, and contextual third-wave therapies. I am most knowledgeable in treating anxiety, trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), phobias, sexual trauma, abusive dynamics, and self-injury. My approach is grounded in the honesty, collaboration, and authenticity of the therapeutic relationship. I will compassionately challenge you so that you can be free to live your life how you want to. Nothing is too strange, too dark, or too “insignificant” to go into. I care about your experience of what is challenging you, not whether it is logical or rational. Don't worry if you don't fit a category, I will happily work with you as you are.
