Frequently asked questions
What does therapy with me feel like?
Every session is a little different because every child, teen, and family is different. My job is to meet clients where they are, not where they "should" be. Whether we're talking, playing, creating, or practicing new skills, the goal is always to help clients feel safe, understood, and supported.
Who do you work with?
With more than 12 years of experience working with children and teens, I work with clients ages 5–18, adults, and parents navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, behavioral challenges, ADHD, school stress, self-esteem struggles, social difficulties, life transitions, parenting challenges, and other life stressors. My goal is to provide a supportive, down-to-earth space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
What does therapy look like for children?
Sessions are tailored to meet each child where they are emotionally and developmentally. With over 60 hours of specialized training from The Association of Play Therapy providers and ongoing advanced training as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) Trainee, I use developmentally supportive, play-based approaches to help children process emotions, strengthen emotional regulation, build confidence, and feel more connected and understood.
What does therapy look like for teens?
With teens, sessions offer a supportive and judgment-free space to slow down, process emotions, build coping skills, and navigate the pressures of growing up.
Are parents involved in therapy?
Absolutely. Caregivers are supported throughout the process with practical guidance, collaboration, and strategies to help growth continue outside of sessions. I also provide therapy and support for parents navigating their own challenges.
What makes your approach different?
With more than 12 years of experience working with children and teens, I bring both educational and clinical experience into the therapy space as a former middle school teacher, high school counselor, and LPC-Associate. My approach blends warmth, emotional understanding, and developmentally appropriate therapy techniques to help children and teens feel safe, connected, and understood. With over 60 hours of specialized training in Play Therapy and ongoing advanced training as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) Trainee,
Do you also see parents and adults?
Yes! While much of my work focuses on children and teens, I also enjoy working with parents and adults. Whether you're navigating anxiety, life transitions, parenting challenges, stress, relationship concerns, or simply feeling overwhelmed, therapy offers a space to slow down, process what's going on, and build practical tools for moving forward.
Many parents come to me looking for support for their child and realize they could use support, too. I'm here for both.
