Frequently asked questions

What does our first session look like?

Our first session focuses on gathering background information from parents and discussing goals for therapy. I will also review what sessions may look like based on your child's age and individual needs. Each session is personalized and tailored to support your child's unique goals and areas of growth.

What if my child or teen won't open up to you?

Building trust and rapport is an important part of the process, and I move at a pace that feels safe and supportive for your child. I use age appropriate activities, conversation, and therapeutic techniques to help children and teens feel more comfortable expressing themselves. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where your child feels heard, respected, and understood.

Some stuff that was helpful was the skills she taught me.

We had our first session last night. Diana was....amazing! She was kind and understanding and really engaging with my kiddo. She didnt judge or ask him to stop moving. She incorporated that movement into the session and saw it as an advantage vs a distraction. We cannot wait to continue seeing her and my kiddo is very excited for his next meeting.

Nothing was challenging and felt great about all the subjects we hit on.

Communication from Diana with us as parents helps our journey with Addilynn. Being on the same page and helping Diana implement structures and strategies is what help make the improvements we need.

I love how patient Diana is with my daughter. & how reassuring she is with me that I'm doing great. We look forward to our visits. I love that she's teaching us coping skills, in ways that a 4 year old may find fun and actually want to apply when getting upset. No complaints here!

I feel like it was really helpful. Addilynn enjoyed every minute of it and it gave me a chance to see how she acts and put how shes behaving in school into prospective. We are looking forward to our future sessions.

My son really enjoys speaking with Diana. He feels so happy and relaxed when speaking with her. I can tell he feels satisfied in the session.
