Frequently asked questions
What does our first session look like?
The initial session is focused on helping your child feel comfortable, safe, and supported in the counseling space. I spend time getting to know them through conversation about their interests, strengths, daily life, and any concerns they may wish to share. Depending on age and comfort level, sessions may include games, drawing, or other rapport-building activities. Parent involvement is typically included at the beginning and/or end of session to discuss concerns, answer questions, and review goals and next steps for counseling.

We really loved our first session. She was incredibly kind and made me feel so much more at ease. We were pretty nervous going in, but within a few minutes it all felt natural and comfortable. She was very helpful.
