Frequently asked questions

What does our first session look like?

During our first session, I'll ask questions to learn more about you, your background, your strengths, and the challenges you're facing. We'll discuss your interests, what has brought you to therapy, and what you hope to achieve. I want to know about the important people in your life and who you feel most comfortable around. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming and empowering space for you to share.

What if my child or teen won't open up to you?

I specialize in working with children and adolescents with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and trusting environment where they feel comfortable being themselves. I believe that safety develops over time, so I move at each child's pace. I strive to validate every child's thoughts, feelings, and experiences, regardless of age, and ensure they know they have a compassionate advocate in their corner. Helping children and teens feel safe, respected, and understood is my highest priority.
