Biography

Hi! My name Is Jessica Stevens, but you can call me Niki or Ms. Niki!. I am a registered North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. My approach to therapy is Rogerian, (Person-Centered) along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have 8 years of experience with children and adults in areas of depression, anxiety, anger management and children who also have struggles with emotional regulation and attention deficits. I have 8 years of experience with children and adults in areas of depression, anxiety, and anger management. I have 22 years total experience with children who struggle with emotional regulation and attention deficits. My approaches to therapy are Rogerian, (Person-Centered) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). The approach focuses on the individual who is in treatment and their own potential, ideas, goals and motivation. CBT, (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), is a treatment I use that teaches how our feelings and thoughts can affect our behavior. I am also currently in EMDR and TFCBT certification training that will conclude a year from now. These certifications will enable me to serve on the trauma focused needs of clients that are deemed appropriate for treatment. I am very soft spoken and bubbly! I am a humanitarian at heart and believe everyone can reach their goals and potential. I provide a safe space where you will feel cared about and heard without judgment.
