Real Support for Real Life I didn’t learn about mental health from a textbook alone; I learned it through a life of navigating shifting environments. Raised in a single-parent home, I spent years in "survival mode" moving between diverse locations and cultures. My diverse upbringing and work in industrial trades, combined with six years volunteering with foster youth, compelled me to explore ways to support those experiencing the frustration and significant challenges of a dysregulated nervous system. I earned my MA in Education from Liberty University to help families find the steady ground I worked a lifetime to discover. I don’t just offer therapy; I offer hope through a path out of the chaos. Shifting from Survival to Balance (Ages 12+) When a young person has been in "survival mode" for too long, their nervous system gets stuck on high alert or shut down. This often looks like ADHD, anxiety, depression, or anger, but it’s actually a body that doesn’t know how to feel safe. I specialize in: Nervous System Regulation: We work to quiet the "alarm" in the brain. Using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), we can process trauma and stress quickly (often in 1–3 sessions) without the need to relive every detail out loud. Finding the Reset: We use CBT and Reality Therapy to move past reactive patterns. I help those needing support understand their internal "wiring" so they can make calm, assertive choices instead of being hijacked by the stress around them. Restoring Stability: Whether navigating grief, sports pressure, or family transitions, I provide a warm, non-judgmental space where you or a loved one can let their guard down and find their footing. Bottom line: You don't have to stay stuck in survival mode. Life gets better when your nervous system finds its balance. Ready to move forward? Let’s connect.

I am a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who graduated from Lamar University, and I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate life’s challenges. I provide telehealth counseling in a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves and talking about what truly matters to them. I understand that reaching out for help can feel difficult, and I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. I work with individuals experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and self-esteem. My approach is collaborative and personalized, using evidence-based strategies while also focusing on each person’s unique strengths and experiences. I believe that growth happens when people feel supported and understood. My goal is to help clients build practical coping skills, gain insight, and move toward a more balanced, confident, and fulfilling life.

Hello there! I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016. Since then, I have gained experience treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use. I have had the pleasure of working with children, couples, families, and Spanish speaking populations. Throughout the years, I have personally experienced that the effectiveness of treatment starts with being one’s true self and building a strong therapeutic relationship (Fife, Whiting, Bradford, & Davis, 2013). I strive to create a safe place for you where you can be heard without judgement, experience empathy, and be wholeheartedly supported. I genuinely want to get to know the human being that you are and come alongside your journey of healing and healthy change. I am hopeful that pairing our therapeutic relationship with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy will help create lasting positive change in your life.

I work with young adult men who want to strengthen their mental performance, emotional regulation, and decision-making—especially during periods of transition, pressure, or identity development. My approach is grounded in performance psychology and focuses on helping clients move from feeling stuck or reactive to feeling intentional, confident, and in control. I primarily use Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This means we spend less time reliving the past and more time building practical strategies you can apply immediately—while also developing awareness of thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be holding you back. Therapy with me is collaborative, goal-oriented, and rooted in real-life application. I have a particular interest in working with young adult men navigating challenges related to motivation, discipline, stress, relationships, self-worth, and life direction. My goal is to help clients not only cope, but perform at a higher level—mentally, emotionally, and behaviorally—while staying aligned with their values.

Supervised by Tara Bates, MSW, LCSW-S Kristina is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who genuinely enjoys helping people make sense of life when things feel heavy, confusing, or stuck. She earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington and also holds a master’s degree in sociology from Temple University in Philadelphia. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, burned out, stressed, or just not quite like yourself, Kristina gets it—and you’re not alone. With nearly 20 years of experience teaching at the college level and working in nonprofit settings, Kristina brings both knowledge and real-world understanding into the therapy room. She’s especially attuned to how relationships, life transitions, and larger social systems can shape how we think, feel, and move through the world. If you’re unsure about therapy or feeling nervous about starting, that’s completely okay. Kristina welcomes those conversations and believes therapy works best when you feel comfortable being honest—even about your doubts. She works with individuals, couples, and groups, including adolescents, young adults navigating change, middle-aged adults, and older adults (65+). She supports clients dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, grief, trauma, PTSD/C-PTSD, ADHD, relationship challenges, life transitions, and women’s issues. Above all, she strives to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and judgment-free. Life can be really hard at times. Kristina believes that with the right support, you can build tools that help you feel more grounded, more in control, and more connected to yourself. Her approach is collaborative and flexible, drawing from evidence-based practices like attachment-focused therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT, narrative and solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based perspectives. She tailors therapy to your goals, values, and pace—because there’s no one-size-fits-all path to healing. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start therapy. Come as you are. Kristina is known for her warmth, patience, and ability to truly listen. She believes everyone deserves a life with more ease, meaning, connection, and moments of joy. I am honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, growth, and lasting change. I am always TEAM YOU!

As a first session, Kayla stood out as a person first not a therapist, which I feel is perfect for my kiddo. She needs someone that feels human to her, someone who is human like her, so that therapy feels natural and not like an appointment. Kayla is all of that. My daughter said, I think I will feel comfortable talking with Kayla.
