Biography

Hi, I'm Malaak! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who is passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults navigate life's challenges while feeling understood, supported, and empowered. My goal is to create a space where kids feel safe being themselves, knowing they don't have to be "perfect" to be accepted. I work with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and play therapy to make therapy engaging, practical, and tailored to each child's age and personality. Whether we're using games, creative activities, or conversation, I focus on teaching skills that children can use long after they leave my office. I also believe therapy works best when families feel included, so I regularly share tools, answer questions, and collaborate with caregivers to help children succeed at home, at school, and in their relationships. Above all, I want every client who walks into my office to know they have a place where they can be heard without judgment. Therapy isn't about changing who you are, it's about helping you recognize your strengths, navigate life's challenges, and become the version of yourself that feels the most authentic.
