School counselors: your path to clinical licensure.
If you hold a master's in counseling and work in a school, the associate path on Emora lets you finish supervised hours with children and teens by video, evenings and weekends, next to your school role. Emora matches you with a supervisor licensed in your state and books your calendar.
In network with the plans families already have.
<7%
of applicants are accepted. You hear back within 48 hours.
10 to 15
sessions a week, booked by Emora. You do no marketing.
3 to 9 pm
is when families book, weekdays and weekends.
4 sessions
before parents report improvement in their child's symptoms.
Who this is for
- Associate, intern, or provisional license in a state where Emora accepts associates (LPC Associate, AMFT, LMSW, RMHCI, LCMHCA, and similar), with substantial progress toward full licensure already made
- A pediatric or family practicum, or real experience with kids
- After-school and weekend blocks
Not the right fit
- Students who have not yet earned the associate or intern credential
- States where we do not yet accept associates (apply anyway; you hear first)

Questions school counselors ask
- Do I need my own supervisor?
- No. Emora matches every associate with an Emora supervisor licensed in your state and eligible to supervise your license type. If you already have a board-approved supervisor, keep them; we confirm supervision is in place before your first family.
- Do my Emora hours count toward licensure?
- Yes. Supervised clinical hours delivered on Emora count the way any supervised telehealth hours count in your state, and your supervisor signs off in the same EHR you chart in. Confirm any telehealth-specific limits with your board.
- Which states accept associates?
- The map on this page shows every state where Emora accepts associates today, with the title your state uses. If yours is not open yet, apply anyway and you will hear from us first.
- How does pay work for associates?
- Per completed session with a signed note, at the associate tier for your state; the application shows you the exact figure before any call. Paid twice a month by direct deposit, whether or not the payer has paid us yet.
