I am Licensed Professional Counselor who provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down and begin processing what you are experiencing. How often will you communicate with me as a parent?

I like to keep communication with my parents open at all times. I encourage reaching out at any time to provide information that should be considered while working with your child in therapy. In addition, I will also reach out periodically to provide updates on your child's progress toward treatment plan goals.

What does out first session look like?

The first session will consists of getting to know each other and identifying areas of concern to focus on in therapy.

What if my child or teen won't open up to you?

I have years of experience working with children and teens. I prioritize establishing rapport and building trust while also meeting your child where they are emotionally.

How do you handle confidentiality with teens?

The confidentiality policy is reviewed with teens during the first session. Teens are advised of the limitations to confidentiality while also respecting HIPAA in your teen's state.

Do you give homework or practice between sessions?

I encourage practicing skills between sessions.

How will I know if therapy is working?

You will know that therapy is working when making progress toward identified treatment plan goals. In addition, observations of behavior changes and utilization of skills outside of therapy.

How long does therapy typically take?

An average session is 45-60 minutes long. The length of therapy sessions can be modified based on the child's attention span.
