Robin Anil

CTO and parent writing on children’s mental health and technology

Robin Anil is the Chief Technology Officer at Emora Health, where he leads the engineering and product infrastructure behind a virtual mental health platform for children, teens, and young adults. Before Emora, Robin spent nearly two decades building technology at scale. He was a key contributor to Google Maps and Google Ads, led engineering for the reservation platform Tock (acquired by Squarespace), and built and scaled financial research systems at Bridgewater Associates.

Robin is the co-author of Mahout in Action (Manning, 2011) and a co-author of the peer-reviewed paper Apache Mahout: Machine Learning on Distributed Dataflow Systems, published in the Journal of Machine Learning Research (2020). He holds patents in real-time map spam detection and automated task collaboration, and is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

At Emora Health, Robin focuses on building technology that serves the therapeutic relationship rather than competing with it. His writing on the Clinical Insights hub draws on his dual perspective as a technologist and a parent, exploring how platform design, data systems, and clinical care intersect in children’s mental health.
