Biography
Hi, I’m Ginger Freeman, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate providing online therapy to children, adolescents, and adults across Texas. I offer a warm, relational, and strengths-based approach for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, trauma, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel like you, you’re not alone. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what you’re going through, and reconnect with yourself in a more grounded and meaningful way. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel understood and can begin to build clarity, confidence, and lasting change. I graduated from the Counselor Education program at the University of Texas at Austin, with a specialization in higher education and college-aged students. I also have experience as an executive functioning coach working with school-aged children, which supports my work in helping clients build organization, time management, and follow-through skills in a practical, approachable way. My style is warm, collaborative, and attuned, with moments of gentle guidance when helpful. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed care to support emotional regulation, insight, and self-understanding. When working with children, I incorporate play therapy and creative approaches to meet them in their world. This may include drawing, storytelling, games, or imaginative activities that help children express feelings, build coping skills, and feel safe being themselves in the therapeutic space. Our work together is flexible and centered around you. Sessions may include exploring relationship patterns, understanding your emotions more deeply, or learning tools to help you feel more steady and in control. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, respected, and empowered to move at your own pace. Outside of therapy, I value slowing down and staying connected to what matters—whether that’s spending time outdoors, moving my body, cooking, or writing. I also share reflections and tools through my blog, Ginger Therapy Notebook, as a way to make mental health feel more approachable and accessible.
